Do not forget your cooking supplies. You will need pots, pans, utensils and dishes to cook on and eat with. Make sure that you double-check to be sure that you have packed these supplies before you leave the house. When it is time to go to bed at night, each child can stuff the soiled clothing back into the plastic bag and place it back into their suitcase and not soil unworn clothing.

Unless you are a wildlife expert, you should never drink water that you haven't brought to the campsite with you. Water may look crystal clear but actually be home to a host of diseases or bacteria. If you are in an emergency, always choose running water over stagnant water.

You need to make sure you have everything you need when you go camping. Your trip will not be as fun if you forget imperative items. Make an all-inclusive list, and check each item off as you pack. Some important things to put on the list are your tent, tarp, water, food, fire-starters, soap and sleeping bag.

If you are camping along a stream or river, always set up your bathroom area downstream. This makes sure your canvas teepee tents waste won't get into the water that goes near your campsite. Also make sure you alleviate yourself at least 100 yards away from your site.

Do not forget to buy a good hat for your camping trip. This is essential because it will keep the sun off of your head and face when it is warm. Hats are good when you are camping in the cold as well, since they keep all of the heat from escaping your body from the top of your head.
